Snaking through meandering paths inside the Jardin des Plantes, one escapes Paris in a forest of trees older than the country itself.


 

As tree canopies become sparse of leaves the ground is littered in orange, yellow and brown. Overhead hangs a mere garland of foliage that will soon join the autumn tapestry of fallen leaves.

 

The grandes magasins of Boulevard Hausseman, costumed for Christmas in Las Vegas casino-style lighting, host a mechanical universe behing their shop windows. Little hands press up against the glass leaving impressions in the frost while vying for a glimpse inside.

Sainte-Chapelle is bathed in a radiant glow as sunlight streams through an intricate latticework of stained glass, painting the floor in mosiac.

As if trapped in a surreal spiderweb, the Pantheon has been draped in Brazillian artist Ernesto Neto's multi sensory installation "Leviathan Thot" for le Festival D'Automne a Paris.

Modern for its time, built in Second Empire Architecture, the Grand Salle of the Richelieu Bibliotheque Nationale de France was inaugurated in 1868, serving as Paris' primary library until the 1980's.
